Tax Manager – GMS – Global Compensation

Overview

In this role you will lead the Global Payroll Manager (GPM) implementation and data management for international assignees, ensuring accurate global compensation processing and compliance. You’ll work with cross‑functional teams to expand GPM adoption, optimize data flows, and automate manual tasks. You’ll engage with clients and offshore teams to coordinate payroll across locations, driving process improvements and ensuring timely, compliant payroll outputs. This is a growth‑oriented role in a diverse, tech‑driven mobility practice that values collaboration and data‑driven decisions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day data management: capture, manipulation, formatting, consolidation, validation, reconciliation, storage, analysis and reporting of data sources
• Project management and implementation to transition clients into GPM
• Enhance data capture, manipulate multiple sources, improve processes, automate tasks, test new processes and validate outputs
• Define tax rules to support technology build and ensure accurate payroll instructions
• Own KPMG’s web‑based client portal and coordinate payrolls in the UK and/or multiple locations
• Liaise withHR, internal payroll and outsourced payroll teams; collaborate with Tax Technology
• Identify process improvements and automation opportunities
• Manage payroll processes including payroll instructions and funding reports
• Load, map and download client payroll instructions to global coordination database or GPM software
• Provide user acceptance testing and ensure data integrity

Key requirements

• Tax technical knowledge in global mobility and cross‑border payroll
• Advanced Excel and Access skills
• Experience with international assignees and overseas payroll
• Project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects to deadlines
• Ability to define data requirements and map sources for payroll processing
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting abilities
