Overview
In this role, you will lead a short breaks children’s home for up to five disabled children, ensuring a high-quality, safe, and nurturing environment. You’ll work with a multidisciplinary team and partners to support each child’s development and advocacy. You’ll drive a Good Ofsted service and be instrumental in shaping experiences that build independence and friendships. This is a hands-on leadership role in a supportive, values-driven council setting with opportunities to grow professionally.

Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a staff team including Deputy Manager, nurses and Residential Child Care Workers
- Ensure delivery of a high-quality residential service for disabled children within policy and standards
- Maintain Ofsted Good status and oversee regulatory compliance
- Advocate for children’s voices, preferences and rights
- Coordinate with social workers, Occupational Therapists, educators, and carers in a multi-disciplinary approach
- Oversee safeguarding, enhanced DBS checks, and registration processes with Ofsted
- Provide individualized care plans, enabling independent living skills and social engagement
- Support family breaks from caregiving through flexible activity offerings
