Overview
In this role you join a Bristol Employment team within a growing national practice to handle a varied mix of contentious and non-contentious matters. You will support employer clients on HR issues, draft agreements and policies, and contribute to corporate transactions and data protection work. The position offers partner collaboration, clear progression paths, and exposure to a broad client base across multiple offices. You will help shape employment practice through technical excellence and business development, in a supportive, ambitious environment.

Responsibilities
- Manage employment tribunal litigation from start to finish
- Advise on day-to-day HR issues for employers (discipline, grievance, redundancy, discrimination)
- Draft and review contracts of employment, policies, handbooks and HR documentation
- Draft settlement agreements and advise on related matters
- Support corporate transactions with employment due diligence
- Provide guidance on data protection in employment context
- Manage directions, disclosure exercises and witness statements
- Act for corporate employers, senior executives and occasionally claimants
- Contribute to business development, seminars, networking, and drafting guidance/articles
- Collaborate with Partners and leverage national team resources
Key requirements
- 4-6 years’ PQE in employment law
- Minimum 2:1 undergraduate degree
- Strong experience across wide range of employment and HR matters
- Proven ability to manage tribunal cases through to final hearing
- Confidence with directions, disclosure and witness evidence
- Excellent drafting, research and advisory skills
- Practical, commercially minded advisory style
- Strong client care and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a national team
- Interest in business development and supporting practice growth
- Experience in non-contentious/corporate support work (desirable, training provided)
