Overview

In this role you will oversee commercial control for allocated residential developments, driving cost efficiency from inception to final accounts. You will work within the commercial team to manage cash flow, sub-contractor accounts, and client relations, ensuring timely, accurate reporting. The position focuses on large-scale housing projects and regeneration schemes, offering impact through value balancing and dispute avoidance. You will engage with project meetings and procurement to optimise packages, contributing to project profitability and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Manage cash flow forecasts, cost reporting, and re-measurement across developments
• Maintain timely applications, certifications, invoices, and subcontractor accounts
• Keep Managing Surveyor updated on account progress through finalisation and retentions
• Ensure payments and notices comply with sub-contract terms and Construction Act
• Attend monthly project/client meetings and provide cost analysis and advice
• Oversee procurement of sub-trades/suppliers to optimise cost and buying gain
• Prepare main/subcontract final accounts and evaluate variations and costs
• Support risk management by identifying commercial threats and communicating them to the Managing Surveyor

Key requirements

• Track record with reputable main contractor or residential developer
• Experience on large residential developments
• Excellent commercial skills and awareness
• Full driving licence
• Able to commute to Hertfordshire daily (near Watford)
