Overview
In this role you will advise on planning and development matters for landowners, developers and commercial clients, guiding projects through the planning system. You will work within a specialist planning team on high-quality, complex work and interact with planning officers, consultants and agents. You will help shape strategy and navigate statutory processes to achieve client objectives.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic planning advice at all stages of development projects
- Engage and negotiate with planning officers
- Handle planning obligations, including s.106 and highways-related agreements
- Address highways and access issues in planning contexts
- Advise on heritage matters such asListed buildings and conservation areas
- Contribute to development plans, including neighbourhood plans
- Assist with judicial reviews and statutory challenges to planning decisions
- Offer guidance on compulsory purchase procedures
- Collaborate with land agents, valuers and consultants to influence project direction
Key requirements
- 1-4 years PQE with planning law experience or a strong interest to develop in this area
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to provide clear, commercially focused advice
- Ability to manage own workload with appropriate supervision
