Overview
As a Technical Program Manager, you will lead cross-functional planning for EMEA network infrastructure to meet forecast demand and optimize capital investment. You translate demand forecasts into regional capacity plans and drive multi-year planning with a focus on cost efficiency and reliability. You will perform data-driven risk analyses and guide feasibility studies with technical and business stakeholders. This role offers impact at scale within Google’s AI and infrastructure initiatives, shaping network topology and asset requirements.

Responsibilities
- Drive end-to-end planning pipelines for EMEA networks and capacity
- Ingest and rationalize demand forecasts and translate into regional capacity plans
- Lead what-if analyses and risk assessments for optimal technical solutions
- Collaborate with business owners, technical teams, and negotiators to define requirements and streamline processes
- Oversee multi-year planning to optimize capital expenditure and mitigate supply chain risks
- Develop technical requirements for network assets (fiber, leased wavelengths) to meet demand
- Coordinate cross-functional collaboration with negotiators, PMs, and network engineers
- Support automation and efficiency improvements in network infrastructure planning
Key requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience
- 5 years of program management experience
- Experience in network infrastructure and architecture
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and identify optimization opportunities
- Experience with networking program management, delivering infrastructure assets, and vendor management
- Knowledge of fiber optic systems/submarine cable ecosystem and understanding of EMEA/global carrier networks
- Strong business and technical judgment to drive long-term objectives
