SQL DBA – Algo trading

Overview

In this role you will support a fintech client’s high‑performance database estate as part of the Algo development team. You will maintain and optimize SQL Server and SAP ASE environments at scale, designing globally deployed databases and automation to keep systems reliable. You’ll partner with developers to improve SQL code and database design, while managing upgrades, migrations, and security. The position offers a hands‑on, technical role in a fast, ambitious setting with potential for significant impact and earnings.

Responsibilities

• Specialize in SQL Server development and administration, with SAP ASE familiarity
• Develop strategy for new databases globally including hardware and storage design
• Capacity planning for new and existing systems
• Collaborate with developers to optimize SQL code and DB design
• Perform new database installations, upgrades and migrations
• Configure and monitor database backup policies
• Release database changes to UAT and production environments
• Maintain database security policies
• Develop SQL-based automation systems

Key requirements

• 4 years experience as a DBA
• Experience administering a SQL Server estate
• Experience developing automation systems for the SQL estate
• Ideally fluency in T-SQL
• Some Sybase
• Troubleshooting and resolving database performance issues
• Understanding of underlying systems including networks and SAN storage
• Automation of database maintenance tasks
• Database design
• Exposure to Unix and Windows Servers
