Overview

You will advance credit risk and CLTV modelling for iwoca’s lending programs, balancing automated and human-in-the-loop decisions. You’ll keep production models healthy, drive iterative development, and pursue bold R&D ideas that redefine modelling approaches. The role blends research with practical deployment, scaling models across UK and German portfolios. You join a collaborative team that values data-driven decisions and rapid experimentation to grow credit access for SMEs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead credit risk and CLtV modelling projects end-to-end
  • Maintain and improve production models and monitoring
  • Advance research to reshape modelling approaches and enable prototyping
  • Unify auto and manual models under a common framework
  • Develop IFRS accounting models to sharpen upfront loss estimates
  • Explore generalised modelling approaches that could replace separate models

Key requirements

  • Background in probability and statistics or a quantitative field
  • Ability to reason about uncertainty and calibration
  • Strong analytical ownership and end-to-end problem framing
  • Good judgement and ability to justify model outputs under scrutiny
  • Experience with AI tools to prototype and automate research and development
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to tailor technical detail to audience
