Overview
In this role, you own ORDG’s trusted data products and the governance framework that underpins AI services, controls and reporting. You will lead the data-product operating model, including standards, taxonomy and lifecycle, and ensure a single authoritative data source across platforms. You collaborate with Technology, Data Science and Product teams to deliver a defensible, reusable data foundation for regulated environments. Your work shapes how policy content becomes machine-readable data assets that power dashboards, controls and risk reporting. This role offers scope to influence governance practices at scale and address cross-domain data challenges with senior stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Define ORDG’s trusted data products including canonical schemas, KDEs, taxonomy, lineage, ownership and certification; evolve them with regulatory and platform changes
- Run and chair the ORDG data governance forum; manage lifecycle of data products from design to retention or destruction
- Establish and enforce quality gates and controls across the data foundation (completeness, conformance, KDE integrity, lineage, normativity)
- Collaborate with Technology to implement data contracts, physical models and interfaces for governed data products
- Coordinate with Product Owners and Data & AI Execution Lead to ensure AI services consume governed data products and avoid data duplication
- Act as accountable authority for data-product releases; approve versioning, publication and communications
- Support roadmap, prioritisation and success metrics for Define & Govern Data Products workstream; represent in cross-workstream planning
- Align with RM&C, ORD and LRCM stakeholders on data definitions, standards and consumption patterns
- Contribute to external assurance and regulatory posture by keeping data foundations auditable and defensible
- Manage a Data Modeler / Data Analyst and partner with SMEs and related roles as the capability scales
- Represent ORDG in firmwide data governance forums and contribute to JPMorganChase data standards
Key requirements
- Substantial experience leading data governance, data product management or data stewardship in a regulated financial-services environment
- Deep expertise in data-product design principles (canonical models, data contracts, KDEs, taxonomy management, lineage and quality frameworks)
- Experience running a governance forum or steward community; setting standards and driving adoption across delivery teams
- Strong ability to partner with Technology, Data Science and Product to translate governance into implementable outcomes
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to structure decisions for senior management and explain governance to non-specialists
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams with pace
- Familiarity with AI tools (LLM Suite, Github Copilot, Claude) and understanding of governed data products for safe AI usage
