Principal Electrical Engineer

Overview

In this role you will lead electrical aspects of projects within a long-established building services contractor. You mentor junior team members, coordinate with multi-disciplinary engineers, and manage internal and external stakeholders. You’ll support senior managers on commercial and contractual aspects and oversee technical, financial, quality, and environmental responsibilities. This position offers impact through guiding large-scale electrical work and portfolio projects, shaping outcomes in a historic industry leader.

Responsibilities

• Own and oversee assigned project work within an established team
• Mentor and develop junior engineers
• Coordinate with associated engineering disciplines to deliver projects
• Manage internal and external stakeholders
• Support senior managers with commercial and contractual delivery
• Lead electrical elements of large projects or multiple smaller projects

Key requirements

• Chartered building services experience
• Degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering
• Experience mentoring and leading project teams
• Experience of financial, technical, quality and environmental responsibility on projects
• Enthusiastic and ambitious
• Excellent communication skills including report writing and presentations
• Ability to lead electrical elements of large or portfolio projects
