Mechanical Estimator – Milton Keynes

In this role you drive mechanical estimates for a growing multidisciplinary contractor in Milton Keynes, shaping pre-construction activities. You own tenders from early enquiry to submission, collaborating with suppliers, subcontractors and delivery teams to ensure competitive and viable bids. Your work helps convert opportunities into successful projects while keeping buildability and cost in view. Responsibilities

• Own mechanical estimates from enquiry through tender submission
• Review drawings and specs to produce take-offs and cost plans
• Price labour, materials, plant, and subcontract packages
• Develop supplier relationships and obtain competitive quotations
• Identify value engineering and cost-saving opportunities
• Collaborate with project and delivery teams to ensure viability
• Support tender submissions with clear commercial information
• Stay current with market rates, supplier costs and industry trends

Key requirements

• Proven Mechanical Estimator experience in building services or M&E
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, heating and plumbing systems
• Experience on commercial construction, refurbishment, fit-out or FM projects
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and tender documentation
• Strong commercial awareness with numerical and analytical skills
• Proactive, capable of managing multiple tenders and deadlines
