Overview

In this role you lead a UKAS-accredited EMC test facility and a team of EMC engineers to develop and qualify next-generation radar, targeting, and countermeasure systems. You will shape facility capability, drive early development to formal qualification, and advise customers on EMC. The position offers impact across defence technology and customer-facing technical leadership in a fast-growing program. You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable EMC solutions that meet military and aviation standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of EMC engineers from development through qualification EMC testing
  • Perform EMC activities aligned to MIL-STD-461, DO-160 and EFA EMC Specification
  • Oversee radiated/conducted emissions, susceptibility, lightning, ESD, NEMP and voltage spike tests
  • Provide technical support to internal and external customers on EMC topics
  • Drive continuous improvement of the EMC facility and automate workflows
  • Define facility requirements and deliver capability to support future programmes
  • Coordinate test readiness activities and review/test documentation with customers
  • Support product certification and design/ performance reviews
  • Mentor and train junior staff
  • Engage in facility audits (internal quality, AS9100D, ISO17025 and UKAS) and maintain accreditation
