Design Manager – Interior Fit-Out

Overview

As Technical Design Manager, you shape buildable interior fit-out designs while leading a skilled CAD team. You’ll bridge technical detailing with project delivery, coordinating with Tier One contractors and clients to ensure robust, coordinated solutions. This role combines hands-on design oversight with people and stakeholder management, offering a chance to advance into Design Management within an established business. You will influence design decisions and present solutions to project teams and clients, driving delivery on high-profile projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a team of CAD and Revit technicians
• Oversee the design process from manufacture through construction
• Lead design meetings and make technical decisions
• Present design solutions to clients and project teams
• Coordinate with Tier One contractors to ensure buildability and coordination
• Review, challenge and quality-check team output
• Maintain clear dialogue with team and stakeholders
• Support smooth project delivery through proactive problem solving

Key requirements

• Proven background in technical design and detailed construction drawings for commercial fit-out
• Experience across specialist ceilings, glass partitions, interiors or related fit-out systems
• Competent with AutoCAD and Revit and able to review team work
• Strong people management and client-facing capabilities
