Overview
In this role you lead a translational profiling group focused on advanced imaging and spatial biology to enable target discovery and validation across disease areas. You shape imaging capabilities and integrate multi-omics and molecular profiling to answer key biological questions. You work with cross-functional teams to accelerate translation from target identification to mechanism of action studies. This position combines hands-on experimentation with strategic leadership to drive innovation in translational biology.

Responsibilities
- Lead development and application of translational biology, imaging, and profiling strategies across the drug discovery pipeline
- Design and implement novel assays and integrated workflows using imaging, spatial biology, proteomics, and related technologies
- Maintain hands-on scientific presence through experimental design, assay development, troubleshooting, and data interpretation
- Generate biological insights on disease mechanisms, pharmacology, target biology, tissue and cell targeting, and translational biomarkers
- Lead cross-functional matrix teams and collaborate with project teams, platform scientists, and disease-area researchers
- Shape strategy and evolution of imaging, spatial biology, and translational profiling capabilities, identifying opportunities for innovation
- Establish and manage external collaborations to evaluate emerging technologies
- Mentor and develop scientists to foster excellence and collaboration
- Communicate findings and strategic recommendations to project teams and senior stakeholders
Key requirements
- Ph.D. in Biology, Cell and Molecular Biology, or a related life sciences discipline with 7+ years in drug discovery
- Strong hands-on experience in cellular and tissue-based models and advanced microscopy (confocal, super-resolution)
- Proven track record applying imaging and translational biology to understand disease and therapeutic mechanisms across diseases
- Demonstrated scientific leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration in a matrix environment
- Passion for innovation and emerging technologies, including AI-enabled imaging, omics, and multidimensional data analysis
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills with a track record of scientific impact
