Senior Manufacturing Engineer – CNC Machining

Overview

Senior Manufacturing Engineer at Moog’s Commercial Aircraft Group in Tewkesbury. You will lead lean manufacturing, develop complex aerospace machining processes using Siemens NX, and guide NPI and process development. You’ll mentor engineers, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance manufacturability and quality. Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of lean manufacturing processes focused on quality, cost and delivery
• Create and optimise machining processes for complex aerospace components using Siemens NX and CAD/CAM tools
• Provide Design for Manufacture (DfM) input during product development
• Lead APQP activities including PFMEA, Control Plans and MSA studies
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce downtime and improve process capability
• Review engineering drawings and suggest manufacturability improvements
• Provide technical support to internal stakeholders and external suppliers
• Mentor Manufacturing Engineers and Technicians in tooling, gauging and fixture design
• Support strategic manufacturing initiatives and operational excellence programs

Key requirements

• Significant Manufacturing Engineering experience in a precision machining environment
• 5 Axis Milling and/or Mill turn background
• Advanced CNC programming expertise using Siemens NX
• Strong knowledge of DfM, PFMEA, GD&T and process optimisation methodologies
• Experience leading NPI programmes from concept to production
• Proven ability to lead technical projects and mentor engineering colleagues
• Excellent communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills
