Solutions Consultant – Higher Education & Research

Overview

In this Solutions Consultant role, you guide customers through their security transformation, defining technical solutions that align with business priorities and realizing value from Palo Alto Networks investments. You will lead technical guidance across on-prem, cloud, and security operations, while evangelizing PANW’s leadership. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure adoption and measurable impact for customers, solving complex problems with innovative approaches. This role offers the chance to influence security architectures at scale and help customers realize faster value.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and solution guidance across customer security transformations
• Develop and present high-level designs and cross-platform solutions within the PANW portfolio
• Drive customer adoption of Palo Alto Networks Platform and related services
• Lead discovery to capture technical, operational, and commercial customer needs
• Collaborate with Professional Services, Customer Success, and Specialists to ensure successful implementations
• Conduct impactful technical engagements and workshops with clear messaging for varied audiences
• Lead technical validation efforts to secure technical wins
• Coordinate cross-functional resources to support a cohesive, one-team approach
• Differentiate PANW’s leadership against competitors and articulate business value
• Identify and engage key stakeholders to build security architecture roadmaps

Key requirements

• 6+ years in pre-sales or sales engineering
• Experience in networking, cybersecurity, cloud security, SOC/Endpoint, or SASE
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders and deliver technical presentations
• Experience delivering cybersecurity solutions and technical validation engagements
• Background in selling/designing/implementing CNAPP, SASE, SaaS, or SOC transformations
• Ability to work with Customer Support to ensure successful solution adoption
• Experience in complex multi-product sales and long sales cycles
• English proficiency
