Overview
In this role you will lead food safety and hygiene across the Bristol bakery, ensuring ongoing compliance with BRC and external standards. You will partner with Quality, Production, and Centre Quality teams to drive continuous improvement and audit readiness. You’ll manage training, monitoring, and key safety initiatives, shaping the site’s compliance culture and contributing to national quality strategies. This is a hands-on leadership role with scope to影响 quality performance and business outcomes.

Responsibilities
- Lead food safety and hygiene standards across the site
- Ensure audit readiness for unannounced BRC audits
- Manage Kosher and Halal standards and external audits
- Contribute to QMS implementation and maintenance
- Collaborate with production, health & safety, and hygiene teams
- Lead microbiological monitoring, Legionella and allergen control
- Develop and deliver training plans for food safety competencies
- Coach and develop site teams; partner with Head Office Quality
- Support budgets, KPI targets, and national/local quality strategies
- Engage with suppliers and auditors to ensure compliance
Key requirements
- Experience managing food safety and hygiene in a food manufacturing environment
- Managed BRC audits
- Background in quality systems and external standards implementation
- Science or food-based qualification or similar
- Level 4 HACCP & Food Safety qualification
- COSHH & IOSH Managing Safely trained
- Knowledge of food microbiology, quality systems, and legislation
- People leadership and team management
- Coaching and motivational leadership
- Strong communication and relationship-building
- Proactive problem-solving and data-driven decision making
