Overview

In this role you will lead enterprise-level Employee Relations across the Group, shaping policies and frameworks to deliver fair, compliant outcomes. You’ll partner with People Leaders and stakeholders to embed inclusive ER practices that support transformation and regulatory expectations. You will manage high‑impact, senior‑level cases and provide governance to ensure sound decisions. Responsibilities

  • Provide trusted ER guidance to leaders and senior stakeholders on complex matters ensuring compliant outcomes
  • Lead and oversee high‑impact ER cases including senior grievances, investigations, disciplinary and whistleblowing matters with enterprise or reputational implications
  • Act as senior escalation point within the ER CoE to ensure governance, quality assurance and sound decision‑making
  • Lead or contribute to organisation‑wide ER programmes including organisational change, redundancy and transformation involving multiple stakeholders
  • Partner with People Function, Legal and the business to design, review and embed ER frameworks and policies
  • Use data, insight and technology to identify ER risks and opportunities for improvement
  • Build constructive relationships with senior stakeholders to balance risk and support informed decisions
  • Produce clear, balanced written outputs including risk assessments and senior briefings for complex matters

Key requirements

  • Senior‑level ER experience with practical UK employment law application
  • Current knowledge of UK employment law and contemporary ER practice
  • End‑to‑end ER case management experience (senior or organisation‑wide)
  • Experience supporting organisational change, restructuring or transformation
  • Confidence with data, insight and digital tools (incl. AI) to support ER casework and decision‑making
  • Clear, inclusive communication to explain complex issues and influence decisions
  • Sound judgement balancing colleague experience, impact and risk
  • Ability to analyse ER patterns and translate into practical recommendations
  • Experience working with trade unions or employee representative bodies in a UK context
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in complex settings and collaborate with differing views
