Senior Payments Specialist

Overview

In this role you translate business needs into functional payment requirements and shape solutions within Teya’s Payments team. You will collaborate with engineering, compliance, and other stakeholders to deliver timely, cost‑effective merchant settlements. You’ll operate in a fast-paced environment, balancing strategic thinking with hands‑on delivery. This is a mission‑driven role focused on enabling small businesses to thrive through reliable, scalable payment solutions.

Responsibilities

• Collect and translate business requirements into clear specs and test scenarios
• Prioritize tasks to meet project milestones
• Collaborate with engineering to elaborate user stories and acceptance criteria
• Engage with SMEs, users, and clients to identify opportunities
• Apply knowledge of SWIFT, ISO 20022, Faster Payments, BACS, and SEPA to shape solutions
• Assess impact of new systems and products for alignment with business needs
• Partner with compliance, tax, legal, and accounting to ensure fit-for-purpose features
• Develop and maintain feature roadmaps using data-driven insights

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a business or science-related field
• 5+ years in finance or payments
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies
• Excellent analytical skills with data-driven insight capability
• High attention to detail with ability to manage multiple priorities
• Proven end-to-end delivery of products or features
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for stakeholder influence
