Overview
As Principal Delivery Manager, you will lead complex digital transformation programmes for Kainos’ Healthcare Sector, aligning delivery with client outcomes and strategic goals. You’ll manage multi-engagement delivery, establish governance, and collaborate with senior stakeholders to shape opportunities and proposals. The role combines delivery leadership with business development to strengthen client partnerships and grow accounts. You’ll empower delivery teams, foster continuous improvement, and contribute to the broader Delivery capability with senior leadership responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead complex programme delivery across multiple engagements to achieve measurable value
- Establish and maintain governance, risk management, and accountability structures
- Drive profitability targets with accurate forecasting and reporting
- Identify and develop opportunities to expand footprint within Public sector accounts
- Shape bids and proposals in collaboration with account teams and senior stakeholders
- Support and empower delivery teams to grow and perform
- Contribute to wider management within the Delivery capability as required
- Lead process improvements and encourage innovation within delivery teams
Key requirements
- 7+ years of programme management experience in the Public Sector or Healthcare
- Experience leading bespoke software delivery
- Proficiency with agile methodologies
- Proven track record delivering complex multi-project programmes on time and on budget
- Client-facing experience with senior stakeholders (Director/CxO)
- Line management experience and ability to motivate teams
- Experience supporting business development and bid/tender responses
- Understanding of governance and technical quality standards in projects
- Broad technology awareness and software engineering practices
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage multi-supplier environments
- Ability to make reasoned decisions under pressure
- Experience leading bid responses for Public Sector procurements
