Valve Engineer

Overview

In this role you will oversee valve-related maintenance and support for BP assets, ensuring efficient valve management and compliance within a diverse team. You will coordinate maintenance workflows, participate in risk and equipment reviews, and drive improvements in material and inventory strategies. The position offers meaningful impact through supporting energy infrastructure and BP collaborations in onshore and offshore contexts.

Responsibilities

• Manage the valve request system (VRS) and its workflow to meet asset operational demands
• Chair bi-weekly progress meetings with assets and BP valve management contractor
• Rationalise and approve equipment repairs and disposals for the region
• Act as focal point for BP assets for valve-related issues in the field
• Conduct PSV RBI reviews and approvals
• Support Contract Accountable Manager (CAM) and improve valve management contract processes
• Instigate, support, and approve valve-related eMoC, EQ, and IRIS actions
• Provide break-in TAR support as required
• Identify and realise efficiency improvement opportunities
• Contribute to BP Central Material Master Improvement Program (BoMs, stocking, price book, sparing, preservation, inventory)
• Share best practices to ensure high-quality output in a diverse environment
• Support compliance with BP procedures
• Attend supplier and BP meetings as required

Key requirements

• High education in technical discipline or relevant field (apprenticeship, national qualification, degree)
• Preferred degree with extensive experience resolving technical issues for Isolation Valves Offshore/Onshore in Oil & Gas
• Experience with office and technical computerised applications
• Familiarity with API, ASME standards and valve-related specifications
• Customer-focused mindset and willingness to drive improvements
• Ability to work effectively in a team and coordinate maintenance
