Overview

Site Quality Manager in Bristol responsible for integrating contract quality requirements into the Project Management System and leading the on-site quality function for a major nuclear project. You will guide project teams and subcontractors to deliver construction, installation, and commissioning to high quality standards within a regulated nuclear environment. The role focuses on maintaining a robust QMS, driving continuous improvement, and promoting a strong quality culture across the project. This is a pivotal position within a group renowned for large-scale, high-value energy and nuclear projects.

Responsibilities

  • Incorporate contract quality requirements into the Project Management System and ensure application by personnel and subcontractors
  • Own and update the Contract Quality Control Plan
  • Lead and manage the Site Quality team
  • Organize project quality inspection capability, resources, staffing, and processes
  • Maintain and improve the Quality Management System documentation (policies, plans, procedures, guidelines, registers)
  • Define and implement Document Management Process and ensure document control supports QMS
  • Maintain trackers for near misses, non-conformances, and complaints
  • Monitor non-conformances and ensure NCRs are closed on time
  • Plan and conduct audits and surveillance with effective follow-up of audit findings
  • Ensure QA reviews, inspections, and quality controls align with approved ITPs
  • Promote quality culture and continuous improvement

Key requirements

  • Proven experience in Quality Management on large-scale construction and commissioning projects
  • Strong knowledge of UK nuclear quality standards and QA/QC requirements
  • Experience with ISO 19443, ISO 9001:2015, IAEA quality requirements
  • Experience developing and implementing Quality Plans, ITPs, and quality documentation
  • Auditor qualification and practical auditing experience per ISO 9001:2015 and/or ISO 19443:2018
  • Experience managing quality activities in a nuclear or similarly regulated environment
  • Excellent adherence to procedures and strong leadership skills
