Overview

In this role you will provide regulatory and grid-related legal support for UK offshore wind projects, working with the global Offshore Legal Team to deliver practical, business-oriented advice. You will monitor regulatory developments, coordinate permit processes, and help implement AI-enabled tools to streamline regulatory workflows. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across jurisdictions to ensure compliant and timely regulatory submissions and milestones. This is a chance to influence regulatory strategy in a leading international offshore wind business while contributing to sustainable energy goals.

Responsibilities

  • Advise on regulatory frameworks affecting UK offshore wind, including grid connection and environmental/energy regulations
  • Coordinate regulatory approval processes and prep legal input for submissions and public consultations
  • Utilize and develop AI-enabled tools for regulatory tracking, permit management, compliance monitoring, and document review
  • Collaborate with legal, regulatory affairs, environmental, commercial, development, and project teams across jurisdictions
  • Monitor regulatory developments and track permit conditions to ensure consistent handling across matters
  • Manage external legal/regulatory advisors to deliver high-quality, cost-conscious support
  • Contribute to improving regulatory processes, templates, and legal technology usage
  • Support cross-functional teams to provide practical legal support for offshore wind projects in an international context
  • Prepare clear, timely legal input for regulatory submissions and project milestones
  • Assist in ensuring regulatory compliance across relevant jurisdictions during project execution

Key requirements

  • Qualified solicitor in England and Wales, or equivalent common law qualification with 2–5 years PQE
  • Experience in regulatory, energy, environmental, or planning law in an international setting
  • Experience advising on grid connection or energy regulatory frameworks (desirable)
  • Proven track record using digital tools, legal tech, and AI-enabled solutions
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment
  • Strong commercial, technical, and strategic acumen with solid analytical skills
  • Solution-oriented mindset and effective escalation of complex matters
  • Strong client orientation and adaptability in an international team with occasional travel
