Overview
As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you will orchestrate multi-region program strategy and partner with executives to align technical requirements with business goals. You’ll define global network and data-center infrastructure standards, and lead cross-functional efforts with carriers, engineering firms, and internal teams. You will manage risks, drive delivery improvements, and guide a global TPM team, shaping scalable fiber and data center solutions at Google’s scale.
Responsibilities
- Define and align program strategy across EMEA and APAC to achieve consistency and scale
- Bridge technical requirements with business objectives through advanced insights for executive decision-making
- Define requirements for the Google Global Network and design data-center infrastructure (space, power, cooling)
- Manage complex global relationships with design engineering firms, carriers, internal teams, and executives
- Establish systems to identify and implement innovative solutions to optimize project delivery
- Manage risks and drive improvements in lead-time, predictability, and cost-effectiveness
- Lead a global team of technical program managers and foster a growth mindset across technical domains
- Travel ~25% to Google data centers worldwide
Key requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience
- 10 years of experience in technical program management with a focus on infrastructure projects
- 5 years of leadership experience with direct reports
- Experience with fiber optic network design/deployment (OSP) and data center infrastructure (ISP)
