Overview
As Senior Project Manager, you lead major water and wastewater infrastructure projects from design through handover. You’ll steer multidisciplinary MEICA teams and collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to deliver safe, high-quality outcomes across the UK. This role combines strategic direction with hands-on delivery and offers opportunities to influence project growth and innovation within a growing engineering business. You’ll help drive sustainable and resilient water infrastructure while developing your leadership and technical expertise.

Responsibilities
- Own the successful delivery of major water and wastewater projects
- Lead multidisciplinary teams across civil, mechanical, electrical and process engineering
- Manage design, construction, commissioning and handover phases
- Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and supply chain partners
- Drive project performance across programme, commercial, quality, HSE and environmental objectives
- Provide strong leadership to project teams and foster collaboration
- Manage project risks, opportunities and delivery challenges
- Ensure best practice project management processes are followed throughout delivery
- Support commercial performance through effective cost control, procurement and subcontract management
- Mentor and develop project teams
- Support tenders and business development activities
- Drive continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and innovative ways of working
Key requirements
- Significant experience delivering complex engineering projects
- Experience in water, wastewater or utilities sector preferred
- Experience managing multidisciplinary projects (civil and MEICA)
- Proven track record from design through construction and commissioning
- Strong commercial understanding with budgets, costs and subcontractors
- Excellent stakeholder management and client relationship skills
- Proactive, problem-solving mindset with decision-making confidence
- Experience using Microsoft Project
- Strong communication, leadership and organizational skills
- Full UK driving licence
