In this Quantity Surveyor role, you will drive commercial performance on a major live healthcare project in Birmingham. Responsibilities
- Manage all commercial activities within your area of responsibility in line with governance and processes
- Measure, value and report on works, plus cost reconciliations and value reports
- Prepare Bills of Quantities, schedules of rates and estimates from first principles
- Coordinate with project, design and delivery teams to align commercial activities with programme milestones
- Administer subcontract accounts, including measurement, applications, and final accounts
- Support procurement by preparing tender docs, evaluating enquiries and assisting contractor appointments
- Maintain customer and stakeholder relationships to support project objectives and client expectations
- Contribute to delivery of a complex project in a live healthcare environment balancing commercial and operational needs
- Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities, including delay/disruption/change management
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure safe, efficient delivery with minimal disruption to operations
- Apply experience from live/operational environments to ensure business continuity
- Support commercial delivery of MEP and construction packages to drive value and quality
Key requirements
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying (BSc/MSc) or equivalent commercial experience
- Experience as a Quantity Surveyor on major projects, ideally in live/constrained environments (healthcare, airports, education, data centres)
- Experience delivering commercial aspects of construction or MEP packages
- Strong knowledge of contracts, reporting, change management and risk/delay/disruption management
- Ability to build relationships with clients, stakeholders and subcontractors in a high-profile environment
- Experience working with project delivery, design and operations teams to meet programme/cost/quality goals
- Proficiency with digital commercial management systems and data analysis for decision support
- Understanding of delivering works in live environments with stakeholder management and business continuity requirements
- CSCS Card ( Academically Qualified/Professionally Qualified Person ) or equivalent
- Chartered status (MRICS, MCIOB or MCInstCES) or working towards accreditation
