Electrical Engineer (Building Services)

Overview

In this role you contribute as an Electrical Engineer within WSP’s Building Services team in Cambridge, shaping electrical design for diverse MEP projects. You will work under direction on technical aspects, translate project needs into deliverables, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet delivery goals. You’ll contribute to feasibility, detailed design, and performance specifications, while supporting resource planning and schedule alignment. This is a hands-on position in a collaborative, integrity-driven firm that values development and inclusion, with a clear path toward Chartered status.

Responsibilities

• Deliver detailed electrical design and performance specifications with peer review
• Provide design and technical advice in a multidisciplinary context across projects
• Review and contribute to detailed design programmes and ensure adequate resources
• Interpret project needs and feasibility within the discipline to meet delivery requirements

Key requirements

• Experience as an electrical engineer in building services
• Understanding of UK and European regulations applicable to the discipline
• UK project experience within Building Services MEP
• Experience with electrical design software and 3D design tools (Revit MEP, AutoCAD)
• Ability to sketch and communicate technical detail graphically
