Overview

In this Inventory Controller role, you will manage IT equipment across its lifecycle, ensuring accurate receipt, storage, deployment, return and disposal in line with process and security standards. You’ll keep precise asset records, support daily service delivery, and maintain secure, auditable handling of hardware. You will collaborate with Service Management and technical teams to resolve asset queries and improve processes. This position offers a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, data security and SLA adherence are critical. You’ll join a collaborative team focused on reliable IT infrastructure and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, store, allocate, deploy and return IT equipment
  • Maintain accurate asset/inventory records
  • Conduct stock checks and investigate discrepancies
  • Monitor stock levels to meet service requirements
  • Manage secure dispatches, returns and vendor repairs
  • Assess equipment for redeployment, repair or end-of-life disposal
  • Ensure asset handling complies with data protection requirements
  • Respond to asset queries and coordinate with Service Management/technical teams
  • Highlight discrepancies, security concerns and process issues
  • Support audits and continuous improvement activities

Key requirements

  • Experience in IT asset management, stock control, logistics, stores or desktop technology
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Good Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and data reconciliation
  • Experience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow or Remedy
  • Good knowledge of IT hardware and desktop technology
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to SLAs
  • Understanding of asset accountability, inventory control and data security
