Overview

In this role you manage a litigated claimant clinical negligence caseload within a supportive, cross-functional team. You will supervise junior colleagues and ensure delivery against SLAs, billing and performance targets while working from home part-time. The position offers a collaborative environment with opportunities for training, marketing and wider departmental activities. You’ll focus on achieving the best outcomes for clients in a well-established claimant clinical negligence team.

Responsibilities

  • Run your own caseload of pre and post issue clinical negligence claims
  • Supervise junior colleagues under the direction of the Group Leader
  • Use the firm’s case management systems and adhere to SLAs and performance targets
  • Achieve billing, time utilisation and telephony KPIs
  • Participate in team training, marketing and wider departmental activities
  • Work collaboratively within a friendly, professional group structure with clear support

Key requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor, FCILEx or experienced case handler
  • Experience managing a litigated claimant clinical negligence or serious PI caseload
  • Strong knowledge of CPR and clinical negligence law
  • Ability to deal sensitively with clients and work professionally with colleagues, experts, counsel, insurers and defendant representatives
  • Experience with Legal Expense Insurance, publicly funded matters or CFAs (advantageous)
  • Proactive case progression skills and the ability to drive matters to successful resolution
  • Excellent organisational skills and a pragmatic approach to managing claims
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Confident use of IT systems and case management software
  • Enthusiasm, motivation and a commitment to achieving the best outcomes for clients
