Overview
In this role you will provide practical HSE guidance across Wood’s Consulting portfolio, ensuring compliance with legislation, standards and client requirements. You will collaborate with management, clients and contractors to identify HSE risks, monitor performance and drive continuous improvement. Through engaging communication, training and inspections, you help strengthen safety culture and minimize operational risk across UK projects. This role combines field presence with advisory support to enable safe, compliant and sustainable project delivery.

Responsibilities
- Provide strategic HSE advice to management on regulatory requirements
- Communicate and monitor HSE objectives and performance to align with client needs
- Develop HSE improvement plans and KPIs with trend analysis and reporting
- Lead and support incident investigations with corrective actions
- Share incident learnings and best practices across projects and offices
- Manage HSE interface requirements ensuring compliance with documentation
- Build relationships with management, client HSE reps, site teams and contractors
- Promote workforce engagement through HSE meetings, forums and initiatives
- Coordinate HSE meetings with clients and subcontractors and supply performance data
- Develop and maintain an HSE visit programme for offices, sites and contractor locations
- Oversee HSE arrangements across locations to ensure regulatory and client alignment
- Ensure emergency response arrangements are tested and aligned with requirements
- Deliver HSE inductions, training, coaching and mentoring
- Develop HSE presentations and awareness materials for inductions and training
- Conduct and support HSE inspections and site visits with action follow-up
Key requirements
- Proven experience in a technical HSE role
- Previous HSE experience within a relevant industry
- NEBOSH Certificate and recognised HSE auditing
- Good knowledge of applicable industry regulations and HSE requirements
- Desirable: NVQ Level 4 / IOSH qualification
