Overview
As a Platform Engineer in Deloitte’s Technology & Transformation team, you will design, build, and maintain cloud-based platforms to enable data-driven client solutions. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable platforms and pipelines, guiding production-ready delivery and technical decisions. You’ll stay current with new technologies to drive digital transformation and impact across client engagements. Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain cloud-based platforms and pipelines
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle from design to deployment and maintenance
- Engage and provide technical input during system design
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver software solutions
- Write well-documented code and contribute to technical documentation
- Troubleshoot production issues and ensure smooth operation of live services
- Stay updated with latest technologies and best practices and assess adoption opportunities
- Communicate complex technical topics to technical and non-technical audiences
- Actively contribute to the engineering community
Key requirements
- Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining cloud-based platforms and infrastructure with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Hands-on experience with GCP services (Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, VPC, IAM, Cloud Functions, GKE)
- Proficient in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or Deployment Manager
- Strong CI/CD experience (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Cloud Build)
- Scripting skills (Python, Bash, Go)
- Experience with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, GKE)
- Solid networking, security, and identity management knowledge in cloud environments (GCP)
- Familiarity with monitoring/logging/alerting tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, GCP Operations Suite)
- Experience with Git or other version control systems
- Ability to optimise workloads for performance, cost, and reliability on GCP
- Excellent communication and collaboration
