Senior Civil Strucutral Engineer

Overview

In this role you will lead civil and structural design for complex rail and energy infrastructure, from concept through construction. You’ll work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, compliant delivery and provide technical mentorship. Expect to influence design reviews, value engineering, and project planning while liaising with clients and stakeholders. Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of civil and structural projects from concept to construction
• Design rail ancillary structures and civil assets
• Prepare and review calculations, reports, specifications, and drawings
• Perform structural analysis in line with UK standards and client requirements
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for efficient delivery
• Attend design reviews and drive value engineering and continuous improvement
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians
• Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and project teams throughout the lifecycle
• Support project planning, programme management, and resource allocation activities

Key requirements

• Degree qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Proven experience delivering civil and/or structural designs
• Experience within rail infrastructure, civil engineering, or structural building design
• Strong understanding of structural analysis, design principles, and UK design standards
• Experience using industry-standard structural design software
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage technical delivery on multiple projects
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or actively working towards chartership
