EMEA Prime Financial Services Legal Counsel – Vice President

Overview

In this role you will provide legal coverage for the EMEA PFS business within EMEA Equities, supporting onboarding, client relationships and product initiatives. You will translate complex regulation into practical guidance that enables controlled growth in a fast-paced environment. You will collaborate across Legal, Compliance and business teams to manage regulatory risk and drive efficient outcomes. This is a chance to deepen expertise across UK and European law and to shape how the PFS product suite is offered in EMEA. You will engage with regulators and internal control functions to sustain compliant, scalable operations.

Responsibilities

• Support onboarding of new clients and manage existing relationships by providing legal and regulatory input at inception and negotiating multi-product agreements; provide post-execution support.
• Conduct regulatory horizon scanning, assess impact of new laws, and assist with regulatory advocacy and compliance programs including regulatory exams and audits.
• Identify and manage legal, regulatory, and reputational risks; contribute to product initiatives with appropriate controls and escalation.
• Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, business units and external counsel to deliver coordinated outcomes and maintain risk-aligned processes.
• Drive legal process improvements, documentation optimization and scalable, efficient operating methods.

Key requirements

• Qualified lawyer with 3+ years’ post-qualification experience
• Licensed to practice law in England & Wales or a similar jurisdiction
• Experience in one or more PFS products preferred; other derivatives experience considered
• Excellent negotiation and drafting skills; strong knowledge of UK/European market regulations (MiFID II/MiFIR, EMIR, UMR, SFTR, CSDR, FCA CASS, AIFMD, MAR)
