Overview
In this role, you will price and structure options trades to meet client objectives while expanding your client base and maintaining trusted advisor relationships. You will monitor market dynamics and volatility to spot opportunities, manage the full trade lifecycle, and collaborate with global teams to deliver integrated client service. The position supports the firm’s futures division in providing bespoke risk management and market intelligence to shipping, banks, and institutions. It offers exposure to offshore and global commodity markets in a fast-paced, regulated environment with opportunities to travel and engage with clients.
Responsibilities
- Price, structure, negotiate and arrange options trades aligned with client goals
- Build and grow client relationships and act as trusted advisor
- Monitor volatility and market movements to identify opportunities
- Manage full trade lifecycle: negotiation, execution, post-trade follow-up
- Develop new business through proactive outreach and market intelligence
- Introducting and onboarding new clients and brokerage agreements
- Conduct ongoing market, commodity, and freight analysis for actionable insights
- Ensure accurate trade records and regulatory/compliance standards
- Apply risk awareness and escalate issues when needed
- Collaborate with global broking teams, analysts, and support functions
- Travel and attend client events as required
- Perform additional ad hoc duties to meet business needs
Key requirements
- 3 years+ options broking experience in commodity markets (e.g., iron ore, metals, ferrous, gas, energy)
- Regulatory registrations and examinations
- Excellent communication and client-focused mindset
- Strong commercial judgement and negotiation skills
- Confidence in dynamic, fast-paced environments
- Attention to detail, analytical and numeracy skills
- Self-motivation and ability to work autonomously
