Overview

As the Operations Leader for the Skelmersdale site, you will steer performance across its five production lines and warehousing to achieve AOP targets in QCDM. You’ll lead a culture of accountability, drive continuous improvement, and develop talent within the team. You’ll partner with CI and manufacturing excellence efforts to implement core processes and safeguard safety and quality. This role offers scope to shape site operations, collaborate across sites, and influence the broader UK Operations strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Set direction, culture and standards for people and performance at Skelmersdale and ensure commitments are delivered
  • Develop and deliver Skelmersdale AOP including productivity through daily/weekly performance management
  • Ensure on-time customer service and flawless product changes (NPD, trials, promotions) at Skelmersdale
  • Maintain product quality and food safety by operating equipment and supervising shifts to meet AIB and BRC standards
  • Promote The PepsiCo Way and evolve site culture; manage performance of direct reports including PDR and training needs analysis
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Excellence Manager and CI team to apply IPS, Spark, Lean Six Sigma, and CI
  • Own health, safety and welfare for >500 employees and improve safety results
  • Oversee execution of commercial changes aligned with plans
  • Manage relationship with agency suppliers for temporary labour
  • Contribute to capital investments to support the site’s capital plan
  • Be a key member of hub leadership for Skelmersdale and Cupar and share best practices across Ops
  • Collaborate beyond Skelmersdale as part of the UK Operations strategy network

Key requirements

  • Significant operational manufacturing experience across products, processes and maintenance
  • Strong people leadership with accountability, influence and coaching skills
  • Excellent communication across all levels of the organisation
  • Ability to balance short-term supply needs with long-term strategic planning
  • Broad understanding of end-to-end supply chain operations
  • Familiarity with financial processes (AOP, forecasting, COGS)
  • Analytical skills with Lean Six Sigma capability (Green Belt preferred) and data-driven decision making
  • Knowledge of Integrated Work System (IWS) and experience implementing it
  • Proven project management and change management track record
