Overview

In this role you drive procurement for Murphy’s Energy team on the ETP Project, starting in Kentish Town with future site travel to Fleet and Minety. You lead procurement strategy and the end-to-end sourcing of materials and subcontract packages for high-pressure pipelines, compressor stations and AGIs, within a multidisciplinary project team. You will manage bids, supplier relationships, expediting, QA adherence and contract terms to keep projects on schedule and within budget. This is a hands-on, target-driven role that shapes procurement for energy projects across multiple sites and countries. Responsibilities

  • Develop procurement strategy and manage supply chain for natural resource projects (HP pipelines, compressor stations, AGIs)
  • Oversee operational procurement and the sourcing of mechanical and electrical equipment (pipework, valves, fittings, skid units, gas flow/conditioning equipment; electrical, control and instrumentation)
  • Draft and manage Invitations to Tender; evaluate bids and make commercial/technical recommendations
  • Manage supplier relationships, expediting from order to delivery, and monitor QA/quality control
  • Negotiate subcontract and purchase order terms and conditions (NEC4, FIDIC, ICHEME)
  • Liaise between suppliers, manufacturers and internal stakeholders; source and qualify new supply chain partners
  • Monitor supply chain workload and financial status to manage performance and risk
  • Travel to project sites and work from a regional office with regular site visits

Key requirements

  • MCIPS or similar
  • Experience in a technical procurement environment with mechanical equipment knowledge
  • Experience with subcontract procurement
  • Experience in project-based construction/engineering procurement or commercial role
