Senior Quantity Surveyor

Overview

As Senior Quantity Surveyor you will take full commercial ownership of multiple projects within an established MEP contractor. You’ll drive financial performance, cash flow and risk management while collaborating with delivery teams to ensure compliant, value-focused outcomes. Reporting to the board, you’ll mentor junior team members and provide clear updates on project commercial health. This is a senior, influential role in a growth-focused business that trades on technical expertise and long-term client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Full profit and loss responsibility for 1–3 projects
• Manage project cash flow, forecasting and reporting
• Procurement and commercial management of subcontractors
• Manage valuations, variations and final accounts
• Identify and resolve commercial risks
• Provide commercial updates to the board
• Collaborate with operational and project delivery teams
• Support and mentor junior members of the commercial team
• Take a proactive, solution-focused approach to project challenges

Key requirements

• Commercial experience with multi-million pound projects
• Experience in MEP contracting is preferred; strong general building project experience accepted
• Comfort with high responsibility and autonomy
• Stable career history with progression within previous employers
• Ability to work five days a week in office in London
• Strong communication with senior stakeholders
