Overview
In this role, you will contribute to the electrical design and technical delivery of rail projects within Arup’s Building Engineering team. You will help grow electrical capability across UK and international rail programmes, collaborating with clients and internal teams to deliver clear,Robust solutions. You will shape digital approaches, manage progress and risks, and share knowledge to drive continuous improvement. Responsibilities
- Contribute to electrical design and project delivery for rail programmes
- Develop and strengthen electrical capability across local, national, and international projects
- Communicate effectively with clients and internal partners to manage progress, risks, and milestones
- Support knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the team
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver coherent electrical engineering solutions
- Engage with digital tools (Microsoft, Autodesk) to support project delivery and explore new digital approaches
Key requirements
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards via IET or CIBSE
- Experience delivering UK multidisciplinary design projects
- Background in rail electrical design with familiarity of rail-specific design stages and UK client standards
- Experience with assurance, systems engineering or verification processes in UK rail projects
- Track record of producing compliant, technically robust electrical designs in built environments
- Effective client and stakeholder communication
