Overview
As a Senior Consultant, you will join the Development Planning and Management team to provide development management advice for protecting the operation and performance of the Strategic Road Network. You’ll review planning documentation, contribute to transport planning consultations, and mentor junior staff while building strong client relationships. You’ll help deliver high-quality assessments within time and budget constraints. This role offers exposure to high-impact infrastructure projects and cross-functional collaboration in a global firm.

Responsibilities
- Review planning application documentation affecting the Strategic Road Network
- Lead and participate in transport planning consultations and technical reviews
- Mentor junior staff and share technical expertise
- Build and maintain client relationships and manage stakeholder engagement
- Support overall task delivery, deadlines, and workload management for the team
- Quality assure transport planning deliverables against budget, client, and timeline requirements
Key requirements
- Degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Spatial/Urban Planning, or related field
- Membership of CIHT, TPS or CILT
- Excellent teamwork, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Awareness of UK transport planning principles, policies, and regulations
- Experience mentoring junior staff
- Experience in transport modelling (local, and ideally strategic)
- Proficiency in transport planning tools and MS Word/Excel
