Health and Safety Manager

Overview

In this role you lead health and safety across London bus operations for a major transport network. You will establish site-specific safety management systems, drive improvements, and influence senior decision-makers. You work with multi-site teams to ensure compliance and continuous safety performance. You will translate legislation into practical guidance and support training and safety communications. This is an opportunity to shape safety culture and deliver tangible outcomes at scale.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain site-specific safety management systems aligned with corporate policies
• Conduct audits, inspections, risk assessments, and investigations to drive continuous improvement
• Support delivery of safety training and inductions for operational teams
• Interpret legislation and translate it into practical safety guidance
• Report safety performance and lead safety communications across the organisation
• Collaborate with senior leaders to influence safety culture and decision-making

Key requirements

• NEBOSH Diploma (Level 6) or equivalent
• Proven multi-site, high-risk environment leadership experience
• Strong stakeholder influencing skills with ability to engage senior leaders and frontline teams
• Ability to drive change, analyse safety data, and implement effective solutions
