Overview

In this role you help lead expert witness and dispute resolution work for a specialist architectural practice. You will support solicitors, builders and construction stakeholders with expert analysis and testimony on complex design and construction matters. You will contribute to the firm’s growth by applying extensive architectural experience to high-stakes disputes, including forensic investigations and design management. Responsibilities

  • provide expert witness and dispute resolution support for architectural projects
  • lead assessment of design and construction issues across various building types
  • oversee design management and value engineering on sites
  • contribute to production information, specifications and contractual documentation
  • advise on construction contracts (NEC, JCT, FIDIC) and legal processes regarding disputes
  • work with solicitors, clients and stakeholders to support dispute resolution
  • maintain high-quality written and verbal communication in English

Key requirements

  • minimum 10 years post-qualification experience as an Architect
  • experience acting as named Expert Witness or in forensic investigations
  • strong technical knowledge of architectural design, production information and specifications
  • experience with construction contracts (NEC, JCT, FIDIC) and on-site design management
  • excellent written and verbal English
  • analytical approach and enquiring mind
  • knowledge of construction law and the legal process
  • experience in construction dispute resolution is advantageous
