Overview

In this role you will manage a broad Private Client caseload within a forward-thinking Somerset firm. You will handle wills, LPA, tax planning, and complex estate administration while supporting elderly and vulnerable clients. The role offers flexible/hybrid working, clear progression, and a chance to contribute to the growth and profile of the Private Client team. You will build strong client relationships and help shape service delivery in a supportive environment with impact locally.

Responsibilities

  • Wills and estate planning
  • Lasting Powers of Attorney
  • Inheritance tax advice
  • Estate administration (including complex and taxable estates)
  • Trusts and lifetime planning
  • Court of Protection and deputyship matters
  • Supporting elderly and vulnerable clients
  • Cross-border estate matters (desirable)
  • Develop client relationships and support team growth

Key requirements

  • Solicitor (3-6 years PQE) or Chartered Legal Executive (essential)
  • STEP / TEP qualified (desirable)
  • Strong technical ability in Private Client
  • Experience managing own Private Client caseload
  • Strong knowledge across core Private Client areas
  • Recent estate administration experience
  • Excellent communication and client care
  • Empathetic and professional handling of sensitive matters
  • Independent and collaborative working style
  • Positive, solutions-focused approach
  • Full driving licence for occasional office travel
