Overview
As a Senior Building Surveyor you will lead expert building surveying services across the Midlands, supporting a diverse client base in both public and private sectors. You’ll work within Bruton Knowles’ Building Consultancy team, collaborating across England and Wales to deliver high-quality surveys, dilapidations, and project oversight. You’ll drive client relationships, QA processes, and compliance with industry standards, enabling informed decisions on refurbishments, maintenance, and risk. This is a role with autonomy in a multidisciplinary, flexible, people‑first culture that values professional growth and impact.

Responsibilities
- Technical due diligence for commercial and residential properties
- Preparing specifications, drawings, and risk assessments for refurbishments and maintenance
- Conducting building surveys, schedules of condition, dilapidation assessments, and defect analysis
- Leading QA processes and ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice
- Presenting findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders
- Managing client relationships and stakeholder expectations
- Project management and planned maintenance programmes
- Collaboration with colleagues across Building Consultancy teams in England and Wales
Key requirements
- Chartered Member of RICS (or equivalent), or actively working towards chartership
- Strong background in Building Surveying with experience in party wall matters, dilapidations, and defect analysis
- Proven ability to build client relationships and manage stakeholder expectations
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
