Senior / 3rd Line IT Engineer – Infrastructure & Cyber Security

Overview

In this role you take ownership of Bulk’s infrastructure and cyber security, spanning on-prem and cloud, networks, and AI-enabled security. You will collaborate with IT and security teams to enhance email security, security tooling, and incident response while supporting Cyber Essentials and ISO 27001 initiatives. The position blends hands-on engineering with strategic oversight and exposure to AI tooling, offering opportunities to influence security posture and technology decisions. Responsibilities

• Oversee on-premise and cloud infrastructure planning, deployment, and maintenance (Azure, Google Workspace, networks, firewalls, VPNs)
• Ensure systems are reliable, secure, and up-to-date; lead infrastructure projects from planning to deployment
• Act as Tier 3 escalation point for complex issues and support 2nd/3rd line teams
• Create and maintain technical documentation, policies, and handover to Service Desk
• Manage infrastructure budgeting and contracting
• Develop and improve security measures; lead email security enhancements
• Monitor and remediate security alerts, conduct threat analysis and IOC investigations
• Lead incident response lifecycle and manage security tooling (SIEM, SOAR, EDR/MDR/XDR, CASB/ZTNA/SASE)
• Lead Cyber Essentials project and support ISO 27001 and vendor security assessments
• Setup, configuration and maintenance of AI tooling and integrations (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex-style tools)
• Manage access controls and governance for AI tools and MCP/connector ecosystems
• Collaborate with teams onboarding AI tools and ensure security/compliance

Key requirements

• Around 2–3 years of 3rd Line engineering experience
• At least one cyber security certification
• Hands-on experience with ~80% of listed technologies/environments
• Strong infrastructure experience in cloud and on-premise
• Knowledge of Azure, Google Workspace, networking, endpoint management, and security
• Experience with CrowdStrike, Cisco, VMware vSphere, Windows Server, Jamf, Intune, Automox, VPNs
• Strong security monitoring, incident response, IOC analysis and remediation
• Familiarity with cyber security frameworks and ISO 27001
• Ability to handle complex Tier 3 escalations
• Excellent communication skills and willingness for occasional out-of-hours work and travel to London
