Production Engineer

Overview

In this role you will oversee the assembly of new products and the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of customer-owned units. You’ll work closely with the lean team to drive process improvements, uphold safety, and maintain efficient operations. Your mechanical expertise and teamwork will enable effective troubleshooting and high-quality production on a site with diverse power systems. This is an hands-on role in a world-class engineering environment with a clear impact on performance.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair tasks on series 1600 and 4000 applications per working manual
• Assist in assembly and preparation of 199 and 2000 applications as required
• Demonstrate technical knowledge to support troubleshooting and diagnostics
• Conduct engine and component inspections and cleaning
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements
• Collaborate with lean team to implement process improvements
• Utilize special tools and measuring equipment
• Complete relevant process documentation and ensure health and safety compliance
• Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping across production areas
• Operate plant machinery safely and manage material handling
• Attend training courses to enhance performance
• Manage ticketing (material and labour hours) and prioritize tickets before engine/powerpack departures
• Undertake other production or facilities-related duties as required by management

Key requirements

• NVQ Level 3 in Maintenance / Engineering
• Strong technical background in maintenance and repairs
• Proficient in basic troubleshooting and diagnostics
• Ability to identify cost-saving opportunities
• Excellent teamwork and positive work environment facilitation
• Organised with focus on shopfloor cleanliness
• Task ownership and accountability for timely completion
