Director of Sustainability

Overview

In this role you guide a growing sustainability team within a renowned consultancy, shaping energy strategies for major masterplan projects and advancing research and development. You will lead technically and collaborate with clients at early project stages to drive zero-carbon outcomes. The position suits a proactive leader who thrives on cross-functional impact and seeks to elevate a respected firm’s sustainability practice. You will influence project direction and team growth while delivering client-focused advisory at scale.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the sustainability team and its growth trajectory
• Provide energy strategy guidance to clients on large masterplan schemes
• Lead the team from a technical perspective on sustainability initiatives
• Support research and development efforts within the practice
• Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to drive zero-carbon outcomes

Key requirements

• MSc in Architectural Engineering, Sustainability, Building Services Engineering, Energy or similar
• Experience in a client-facing role
• Track record advising clients on large masterplan projects
• Knowledge of Passivhaus, energy performance, thermal, Building Services Engineering
