Overview

In this role you will lead site delivery on a major civils/energy project in Aberdeen, ensuring safe, efficient construction aligned with design and contractual requirements. You will drive daily operations, integrate planning with site teams, and foster a Zero Harm, sustainable culture across the project. You’ll work closely with cross‑functional teams and supply chain partners to deliver on schedule and quality targets. This is a hands‑on leadership role at scale within a national infrastructure framework, shaping Scotland’s renewable energy future.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engagement with the supply chain and supervisors, ensuring RAMS, safe systems of work, and project controls are in place
  • Support mobilisation, pre-starts and competency checks, and maintain BB policies and procedures
  • Promote sustainability targets and Zero Harm culture; lead incident investigations when needed
  • Lead operational teams, coordinate daily site briefings, manage programme delivery and short‑term planning
  • Integrate planning and site teams to improve communication and progress tracking; maintain site records
  • Drive productivity and recovery planning when delivery falls behind; promote one‑project thinking across partners
  • Lead resource and logistics planning; manage site access, plant utilisation, lifting and material movements
  • Produce phasing plans accounting for logistical constraints; oversee site set‑up and mobilisation
  • Maintain project quality standards; ensure delivery aligns with design, employer requirements and standards
  • Apply digital tools, 3D modelling and MMC to improve delivery; resolve technical and buildability issues
  • Understand contracts, commercial drivers and support change, variations and entitlement; track productivity to reduce cost

Key requirements

  • Experience leading and developing multi‑disciplinary construction teams
  • Proven construction management experience in related infrastructure/energy sectors
  • Experience managing budgets, schedules, work packages and timelines
  • Experience with regulatory bodies and ensuring compliance; advanced site safety management
  • Contract negotiation with subcontractors, suppliers and clients; conflict resolution
  • Experience with value engineering, cost-saving initiatives, quality management and sustainability
  • Experience using construction technology and project management software
  • Proven ability to manage multiple work packages simultaneously; cross‑functional collaboration
