Overview
In this role you will join the Procurement & Supply Chain function to safeguard supplier quality and drive continuous improvement across our approved base. You will lead investigations into supplier non-conformances, ensure QA system compliance, and monitor supplier performance to support Napier’s quality goals. You will work cross-functionally to implement technical and process improvements and participate in supplier evaluations. This is an opportunity to shape quality governance in a global industrial business.
Responsibilities
- Investigate supplier non-conformances and lead root cause analysis
- Audit suppliers and drive improvement action plans to ensure QA system compliance
- Measure and manage supplier performance per Napier Vendor Assessment system
- Lead supplier investigations and manage corrective action processes (5-Why, Fishbone, DMAIC, 8D)
- Support suppliers with technical and process improvements
- Conduct supplier risk assessments and participate in new supplier evaluations/approvals
- Manage supplier scorecards, KPIs and quality performance dashboards
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Procurement, Operations, Engineering and Commercial teams
Key requirements
- Experience within Quality Engineering, Manufacturing, Production Engineering, Supplier Development or Supplier Management
- Experience in a regulated industry (advantageous)
- APQP, PPAP, FMEA (Process & Design), MSA, SPC
- 8D, root cause analysis tools
- Lean & Six Sigma methodologies
- Managing supplier deviation and non-conformance processes
- Engineering drawing interpretation
- Understanding manufacturing processes: CNC machining, moulding, castings, welding, coatings, investment casting
