Treasury Operations Associate/Manager (Francophone Africa)

Overview

In this role you will own treasury operations and credit risk across Francophone Africa to enable safe, efficient money movement. You will work with intermediary financial partners and cross-functional teams to manage exposures and build scalable risk processes in volatile environments. You will push back on assumptions with evidence and make sound risk decisions amidst ambiguity. The position supports corridor growth and requires collaboration with finance, compliance, legal, and markets teams. You will contribute to the company’s mission of expanding access to financial services for diaspora communities through proactive risk management and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Own treasury operations and credit risk across Francophone Africa corridors
• Assess and monitor counterparty risk with intermediary financial partners in high-volatility environments
• Build and maintain scalable risk frameworks in rapidly changing regulatory contexts
• Identify and mitigate operational exposures in collaboration with internal teams
• Manage partner relationships across Francophone Africa as a trusted contact
• Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, compliance, legal, and markets teams to support corridor expansion
• Communicate risk positions clearly to senior stakeholders and challenge views when supported by data

Key requirements

• Hands-on credit or counterparty risk experience in volatile, real-world conditions
• Experience with emerging markets, especially Africa, India, or LatAm
• Background in fintech, payments, remittances, or risk-focused consulting; banking backgrounds considered for early-career candidates
• Proven track record of delivering concrete outcomes
• Fluency in French and English
• Strong analytical ability with financial data and risk modeling; comfort with ambiguity
