As Design Lead, you will steer multi-disciplinary design for water and wastewater projects in the UK market, shaping affordable, low-carbon solutions and guiding a design team through delivery stages from feasibility to commissioning. You will manage client relations, risk, cost, and programme while ensuring quality and value. This role sits within a growth-focused, safety-conscious, collaborative environment delivering essential infrastructure for communities across Scotland. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to realise resilient water systems and sustainable development goals.

Responsibilities
- Lead delivery of multi-disciplinary design for projects/programmes
- Develop and lead a team of electrical, mechanical, civil, and process designers
- Develop affordable and low-carbon solutions and manage opportunities and risks
- Deliver detailed designs to meet construction needs and client acceptance, including cost and programme control
- Challenge engineering solutions and delivery effectiveness to maximise client value
- Provide direction and oversight of project controls, ensuring quality, programme, and cost compliance
- Maintain positive client relationships at project level
Key requirements
- Degree in Engineering
- Chartered or incorporated member of a professional institution (e.g., ICE, IMechE) or equivalent experience
- Outline and detailed design experience in water or wastewater projects
- Knowledge of the Designer or Principal Designer duties under CDM 2015
- Strong technical knowledge in own discipline and understanding of other disciplines
- Able to travel to sites across the operational region
